Fishing Guides Across the Mountains of Georgia, Tennessee and North Carolina
Permitted and supported by the USDA/Nantahala National Forest
Dubbed by many fly-rodders to stand among the premier fly-fishing destinations in the southern Appalachian Mountains, the Nantahala River holds every feature found on the trout streams of southern Appalachia.
Enjoyed by beginner to expert fly-fishermen, this beautiful riverway in "the land of the noonday sun" holds brown, rainbow and brook trout and is fished by the guides of Reel Angling Adventures during the "delayed harvest" regulation period. The "DH" section of each of this trout-fishing gem is packed with thousands of trout per mile among boulder gardens, glassy pools, pocket water, tasty tailouts and incredible plunge pools.
TRIP DESCRIPTION
Reel Angling Adventure’s guides lead you onto the Nantahala River from the best roadside pull-outs and parking areas for casting into the fast action the river is know for. Trout Unlimited listed it as one of the nation's “Top 100” trout streams. The river is stocked by the state of North Carolina but also holds a very good population of wild trout.

More than 4 miles of the Nantahala is designated as “delayed harvest” fishing only (single-hook artificials only (lures/flies) and catch-and-release) from the October 1 through the first Saturday in June.
Guided fishing includes guide/boat, rods/reels, lures/flies, tackle accessories and bottled water. Full-day trips include deli-styled lunch. Anglers are personally responsible for proper fishing licenses, proper waders/boots (as required).
